These shipping containers represent the ultimate cost of war. They encased the casketed remains of three young men from Vigo County who gave the ultimate sacrifice during World War II. Shipped to a funeral home in West Terre Haute, the top container held the remains of Carl Ewing, the middle container Arvil Conklin, and the bottom one Wayne Crines. These pieces are a poignant reminder of the losses suffered for the sake of freedom, and of its exceedingly high cost.
